2018 Reunion – expanded version
Welcome to our website!! It has only been up and running for a few days, and was designed and produced courtesy of the generosity and expertise of our friend and family member Michael Zore, of Sterling Technologies Group, Ltd.
Yes, believe it or not, it has already been 20 years since our last official Doherty Family reunion; which was held on August 22, 1998, and a wonderful time was had by all!! This one will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 – rain or shine.
Please mark your calendars, reserve the date, and plan to join us! It will be just north of Rockford, Illinois, and easily accessible by major roads from north, south, east, and west, including Illinois Route 2, Route 173, and Route 251, and only a few miles west off of Interstate 90.
We have previously concentrated on the descendants of Fintan Patrick Doherty (born Dougherty, in 1897) and his wife Uveta Fay (Bloyer) Doherty (born 1896), but for this reunion we will be broadening our focus to also include, invite, and welcome descendants (and their spouses) of Fintan’s sisters Mary Genevieve (Dougherty) O’Connor (1885), Helen Louise (Dougherty) Keene (1894), and Margaret Cecelia (Dougherty) [Holman] Swanson (1902).
Check back on this website often, as we will be posting more specific details and additional information soon, plus some interesting old photographs, genealogical data, and other items concerning our family.
We will be collecting information too with which to update and expand the book which was prepared last time, with all of our new, current family members included! We will also be sending you paperwork for this to complete and return, so that we may have it ready to compile and pass out at the reunion.
